Technical Coordinator

The Technical Coordinator leads parts of the project and leads project teams in conjunction with the Senior Project Designer and team leadership.

The Technical Coordinator designs, manages and performs within a design team in a self-directed manner focused on the documentation phase and interior design drawing sets within an established construction budget with specific scheduling, site and programmatic requirements.

This role is currently remote, however, we hope to resume in-person work in our Chicago office when we are able to do so safely.

 

Requirements

Position Responsibilities

  • Translate design direction to project team in accordance with team leadership, brand-specific standards, and brand guidelines; direct project team to produce design documents that meet brands’ submittal standards

  • Complete comprehensive project tasks efficiently in a prescribed time frame with very minimal feedback

  • Manage project tasks in accordance with project schedules

  • Manage project teams in Chicago and Manila

  • Perform Quality Control exercises on one’s own work as well as team members’ work

  • Demonstrate collaborative and professional work ethic

Job Requirements

  • Experience in managing and leading successful projects in the documentation and construction administration phase

  • Strong project management ability to plan/oversee day-to-day and monthly tasks and time as it relates to fee established by team leader

  • Strong experience with construction materials, interior architecture, and millwork detailing

  • Strong experience in construction documentation drawing sets, shop drawing review and construction administration

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Self-directed and motivated

Technical Skills

  • Strong skills in AutoCAD (current release preferred) and SketchUp

  • Familiarity with Revit

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program

  • 7-10 years professional Design experience, preferably within the hospitality industry

  • Strong design portfolio required
