Gettys ONE – Director

Position Summary

An active senior team leader within the design studio that facilitates and improves upon the inner workings of their studio, inclusive of administration, business development and the ongoing enhancement of The Gettys Group’s creative process. A Director acts as the primary resource in support of the studio team members, as well as a liaison between team members and leadership while continuing as a lead on any given project team.




Bachelor / Master Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program


10+ years of professional experience

  • Manage Quality Control protocols and ensure implementation across all studio projects
  • Develop monthly project staffing, inclusive of Manila team members, based on studio’s financial projections
  • Understanding of work plans, budgeted vs. actual hours and precise billings for all active projects
  • Ensure all projects are on track for Monthly Deliverables and proactively address any at risk projects
  • Prepare and review new project scopes, work plans and contracts / fees as required
  • Strong understanding of the design process with the dual ability to focus on management of client relationships and team members’ professional development
  • Exhibit a passionate team mentality and promote a continuous learning and positive team environment within the Design group
  • Motivate and mentor team members to enable their growth and progression as designers within our firm
  • Identify interests, concerns and issues within the studio to ensure all are addressed and resolved in an expeditious manner
  • Foster an “open-door” policy with team members to empower communication with Director and other members of leadership
  • Own the determination of staffing needs, recruitment, hiring, training and development of new team members; work in conjunction with HR to recruit and staff all open positions within the studio
  • Manage administrative processes for studio team members including but not limited to time and expense approval and PTO requests
  • Collaborate with Director peers to maintain a steady, creative design vision and process that generates value to clients, team members and the firm while continually building The Gettys Group Companies as a design leader
  • Follow and provide input into group processes and procedures to ensure strategies and directives of department are carried out in accordance with group and firm-wide objectives
  • Facilitate the creation of pipeline projects through proposal origination and new business strategy; generate and maintain prospect/client relationships in conjunction with our business development group
  • Manage and evaluate business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the group
