Position Summary

Our Procurement Agents perform and fulfill a variety of procurement functions for Hospitality based Design/Procurement projects from inception through project completion. The position is instrumental in maintaining important supply chain initiatives necessary in executing successful hotel builds and renovations.

Requirements

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree – Business/Supply Chain or Hospitality major desired

EXPERIENCE

2-5 years of professional experience with an emphasis in operations or supply chain management.

GENERAL SKILLS

  • Existing knowledge base or ability to quickly immerse oneself in the Hospitality FF&E and OS&E categories
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and proven ability to create and maintain analytical reports in Excel
  • Clear, concise (legal-minded) written communication skills
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Good telephone conversationalist
  • Solid negotiating prowess
  • Attention to detail with a numbers-oriented mindset
  • Organized and thorough work style with emphasis on time management
  • Ability to resolve conflict quickly and constructively
  • Knowledge of Spexx/Exxpedite

JOB REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Support parts of or an entire project depending on scope with team leadership
  • Knowledgeable in specification translation for the purposes of bidding, budgeting and issuing Purchase Orders
  • Knowledge of manufacturers, price points, product expediting & logistics principles
  • Intermediate experience in project design specifications, supplier selection, costing, production lead times, bidding, PO issuance and expediting orders
  • Negotiate pricing and lead times for products
  • Issue, track and expedite purchase orders through delivery of goods
  • Maintain and update project timelines relating to purchasing scope of work
  • Resolve supplier issues with respect to quality issues and/or timing of delivery
  • Prepare and issue project inventory/delivery status reports
  • Manage communications with freight forwarding/logistics companies, ensuring delivery of product and resolving outstanding issues
  • Review prepared invoices for payment
  • Able to complete project tasks in accordance with project schedules
  • Documentation and resolution of all project punch list issues
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets for design-related projects
  • Perform Quality Control exercises on one’s own work
  • Interact within the hospitality network including but not limited to supplier socializing and trade show & conference attendance
