Designer III, Gettys ONE

Position Summary

In 2012, a development group approached The Gettys Group Companies with a proposal for a new kind of engagement: to leverage our hotel design agency’s expertise, high-level industry relationships, and talent for creating differentiation through design for the fast-growing select-service hotel sector.

Over the next year, we carefully adapted our design, approval and documentation processes to deliver the time and budgetary efficiencies demanded by select-service hotel development, creating an entirely new breed of design offering for the sector: consultative, professional, expert.

The Designer III designs, manages and performs within a design team in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process including preparation of materials, schematic design, design development, contract documentation, and construction of administration activities within an established budget with specific scheduling, site and programmatic requirements. The Designer III leads segments of a project, depending on scope, in conjunction with team leadership.




Job Requirements

  • Effective experience with construction materials and FF&E specifications/providers
  • Effective experience in project design specifications, construction documentation and shop drawing review
  • Effective graphic skills in AutoCAD (current release preferred), InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp
  • Effective understanding of specification writing (SPEXX experience preferred)
  • Effective understanding of design principals, theories, color and materials
  • Perform Quality Control exercises on one’s own work, as well as other’s work
  • Able to manage and complete project tasks in accordance with project schedules
  • Effective understanding of hotel brand structures and standards
  • Create documentation in accordance with brand-specific standards and guidelines

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program
  • Minimum 4 years of post-graduate professional Design experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Strong design portfolio required
