The Job Captain manages Contract Documentation production & Contract Administration within a design team in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process. Coordinates with designers to provide technical solutions for design challenges. Reviews documentation to ensure compliance with firm standards and leads coordination with AOR/MEP/ADA requirements. Responsible for leading contract administration phase alongside Senior Project Designer/Project Designers. Responsible for Quality Assurance / Quality Control of projects with focus on general construction and custom design elements of design.

A Job Captain collaborates with Senior Project Designers in all phases of design and manages Contract Documentation and Construction Administration phases.

  • Willing and able to lead one or more project teams
  • Knowledge of Brands/Brand Standards preferred.

Job Required Skills

  • Intermediate documentation and field observation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of CDs and procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Contract Administration.
  • Intermediate Revit skills preferred.
  • Advanced AutoCAD skill required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of millwork and construction details
  • Intermediate understanding of construction cost and scope impact.
  • Intermediate knowledge in architectural and hospitality grade finishes.
  • Intermediate knowledge in plumbing fixtures, fittings and decorative hardware.
  • Able to perform Quality Control for CDs per firm standards.
  • Able to manage project tasks in accordance with project schedules.
  • Intermediate experience working with project budgets
  • Assist in maintaining departmental documentation and standards
  • Intermediate project management ability to plan/oversee day-to-day and monthly tasks and time as it relates to monthly hours allocated by team leader

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of architecture or Design school: equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Experienced in hospitality/commercial/multi-family interior design projects. Hospitality preferred.
  • Architect, Interior Architect, or Interior Designer
