Creative Director

Position Summary

This role oversees Branding Creative for all client and internal projects.

The Creative Director serves as the creative compass for the internal team, guiding all projects and ensuring the overall quality of work produced by the creative department. The Creative Director will both manage and contribute to the work product, leading brainstorms, generating big ideas, and executing creative work. The Creative Director is a key member of the creative team, possessing a deep understanding of storytelling, branding, typography, and both print and digital design. They are a very strong conceptual thinker, and can translate clients’ business needs into fresh, innovative, beautiful and workable solutions, partnering with designers & copywriters to bring concepts to life. They are comfortable explaining their ideas to members at all levels of the organization, and can confidently present the team’s work in the delivery of successful client presentations. They are a voice for the bigger picture and is willing to challenge thinking and convention when needed and appropriate.

Position Responsibilities


  • Manage the creative process from concept to completion.
  • Understand clients’ creative and business goals, translating client objectives into clear creative strategies.
  • Interpret a wide range of information (client data, online search, third-party research) to frame insight-driven solutions that will best position the project and inspire clients and team members.
  • Lead brainstorming/workshop sessions for clients and team members to help inspire the creative process and push the ideas forward.
  • Lead the development of engaging brand experiences that deliver against the client goals and project objectives, including: research, market insights, brand positioning, brand concept development, and naming.
  • Lead team members in conceptualizing and creating brand identities for hospitality client projects, including presentation decks, logos and graphic elements, and a variety of digital and print materials, taking projects from concept through design and delivery of brand style guide and production-ready files
  • Articulate and present work to team members and clients convincingly and effectively.
  • Lead and inspire design team—both internal and external resources—to appropriately execute against a project’s vision.


  • Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with in-house talent as well as freelancers and other design agencies, to ensure highest quality of work (verbal, written and visual) and collaboration.
  • Support and champion the development of team members, demonstrate a positive and passionate attitude and lead by example.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with business partners and associates by making them feel valued, appreciated, heard, and included.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to team members to support their career growth and help them strengthen their skillsets.
  • Continue to refine and enhance the team’s process and deliverables.
  • Support new business development by participating in client pitches and development of proposals.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and stakeholders.
  • Confident and effective presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of/exposure to travel/hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of branding and processes.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently under pressure, with careful attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to approach projects with flexibility, collaboration and resourcefulness.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and accountable, with the ability to direct and motivate others.
  • Contagious passion for strategy and design.

Technical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of print and digital production processes
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Understanding of interactive design and UI/UX
  • Web background, including a working knowledge of HTML and CSS a definite plus
  • Major Bonus if you have strong motion, animation, or illustration skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BFA) from a four-year accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design/Visual Communications or related
  • 12+ years of industry or agency experience
  • Hospitality and Food & Beverage experience (desired, but not a must)
  • Strong multi-disciplinary portfolio required
