Reporting to the Director of Branding, The Brand Designer is responsible for partnering with the rest of the creative team for the development and execution of creative concepts to support The Gettys Group client projects.
The Brand Designer is a key member of the creative team, possessing a deep understanding of storytelling, branding, typography, and both print and digital design. They are a strong conceptual thinker, and can translate clients’ business needs into beautiful and workable solutions, partnering with designers & copywriters to bring concepts to life. They are comfortable explaining their ideas to members at all levels of the organization, and can present the team’s work in the delivery of successful client presentations.
The Brand Designer combines strong creative, organizational, communication and technical skills to provide solutions that deliver against the brand vision for all The Gettys Group Branding projects.
This role is currently remote, however, we hope to resume in-person work in our Chicago office when we are able to do so safely.

Collaborate with Director and other team members to conceptualize and create brand identities for hospitality client projects, including presentation decks, logos and graphic elements, and a variety of digital and print materials, taking projects from concept through design and delivery of brand style guide and production-ready files
Develop presentation decks, mood boards, and a variety of digital and print materials, taking projects from concept through design and delivery
Articulate and present concepts and rationale to other team members and clients, contributing to creative brainstorms, strategy and client presentations/workshops
Mentor and inspire design team—both internal and external resources—to appropriately execute against a project’s vision
Maintain a high standard of design quality and professionalism, providing quality assurance of all creative deliverables
Contribute to elevating the visual brand standards for The Gettys Group Companies
Though it is not the primary role of this position, there are occasionally small and fast paced requests to support our Business Development group that can come up with little advance notice
Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and stakeholders

Highly proficient knowledge of print and digital production processes
Highly proficient knowledge of Adobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Understanding of interactive design and UI/UX a plus
Web background, including a working knowledge of HTML and CSS a definite plus
Major Bonus if you have strong motion, animation, or illustration skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BFA) from a four-year accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design/Visual Communications
4-7 years of agency experience
Hospitality and Food & Beverage experience (desired, but not a must)
Strong multi-disciplinary design portfolio required
