Cancun Mexico

Spending the day in the sand and the surf works up the appetite. Here is where we like to work it out.

Best Spot to Enjoy the View:

La Palapa Belga is located in a calm residential area of Boulevard Kukulcan, on the grounds of a small little hotel called the Imperial Lagoon hotel. The hotel is hard to find but it is located across the street from Presidente Intercontinental hotel. This quiet restaurant has great seafood and a wonderful view which looks back over the Nichupté lagoon towards the Hotel Zone. Ice cold cerveza Montejo is the way to accompany any one of their seafood dishes

Best Use of Honey:

La Habichuela is an excellent restaurant for traditional Yucatecan cuisine. An establishment in Cancun, it is definitely worth a visit and make sure you finish off your evening with a glass of Xtabentun, a Mayan liqueur made with honey and anise.

Best Foodie/Historical Tribute:

Puerto MaderoBlvd. Kukulcan Km. 14
Marina Barracuda, Zona Hotelera
Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico

As a tribute to the famed Puerto Madero of Buenos Aires, this restaurant has quickly earned a reputation for its authentic Argentine cuisine and ambience. Overlooking the Nichupté Lagoon, the decor re-creates a 20th-century dock warehouse, with elegant touches of modern architecture. Puerto Madero offers an extensive selection of prime quality beef cuts, pastas, grilled fish, and shellfish, meticulously prepared with Buenos Aires gusto. In addition to the classic carpaccio, the tuna tartar and halibut steak are favorites, but the real standouts here are the tender grilled steaks (particularly the rib-eye), served in ample portions. Service is excellent.
