With the guiding mantra of “beautiful design is good business,” Roger co-founded The Gettys Group with Andrew Fay in 1988. He now leads the development strategy and analysis for this award-winning and influential global hospitality design, procurement, branding and consulting firm.
A true hospitality visionary, Roger’s vision and forward-thinking approach has grown The Gettys Group into a global company with six offices in the U.S., Asia Pacific and the Middle East. He frequently shares his industry insights on the redevelopment, renovation and repositioning of hotels for various publications and organizations.
A graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Roger’s vast knowledge, combined with his civic work with such groups as the Urban Land Institute, the International Society for Hospitality Consultants and the White House Conference Delegate for Small Business, has earned him Hospitality Design Magazine’s prestigious Platinum Circle Award, an honor widely recognized for praising exceptional achievement in the hospitality design industry.
An Australian native who now proudly calls Chicago home, Andrew is the President and Founding Partner of The Gettys Group, where he has spearheaded nearly three decades of growth for this groundbreaking and award-winning global hospitality interior design, consulting,branding and procurement firm. Propelled by Andrew’s dynamic leadership style and global sensibilities, The Gettys Group has grown from one office in Chicago to six offices throughout the United States, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
By leveraging Andrew’s diverse background in design, hotel operations, real estate finance and branding, The Gettys Group has established a worldwide reputation for having an innovative and creative approach to the hotel design and development process. The firm has also earned rankings among the top global hospitality design and procurement firms while completing several hundred hospitality projects throughout the world.
An honors graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Andrew is a noted industry speaker who is frequently engaged to share his expertise and insight about the hospitality industry, business strategy and global trends. He is also active with a number of civic groups in his adopted hometown of Chicago.
With almost three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Jerry has a wide-ranging knowledge of hotel operations, program development, design implementation and procurement management. During his nearly two decades of work at The Gettys Group, Jerry has been instrumental in helping develop Gettys ONE, a design team specializing in select service hotels.
Adding value to each step of the hospitality design process, Jerry advises our partners on feasibility and due diligence, capital improvement budgeting, ROI analysis, brand and management company identification/selection, capital expenditure, master planning and project management. Some of his high-profile hospitality projects include the Hotel Felix and The Langham, both in Chicago.
Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Illinois State University and is accredited by the Institute for Supply Management.
An accomplished professional with almost two decades experience in private industry and public accounting, Brad is The Gettys Group’s Chief Financial Officer. In this role as well as his position on the Advisory Board, Brad is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to position The Gettys Group to achieve its strategic growth objectives.
Prior to joining The Gettys Group, Brad worked as the Controller for Interra Development Partners, a commercial developer based in Chicago and joint venture partner with Prudential Real Estate Investors. He was also a Senior Auditor for the Chicago Real Estate Group of Ernst & Young LLP.
Brad is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is an adjunct professor of managerial accounting at the Keller Graduate School of Management. He received his Master of Accountancy from Miami University of Ohio.
From crunching numbers to hitting all the right notes, Brad once sang on stage with John Mellencamp.
A highly accomplished hospitality designer, Meg brings a gracious approach to her role as Principal. Her three decades of experience as a leader in strategic brand thinking, Meg’s broad project expertise includes all aspects of hospitality design — from client and brand relationship management to the ideation and execution of entire projects.
Meg’s portfolio includes destination luxury resorts and spas, upscale hotels and high-end residential projects, with hundreds of commissions for the most prominent hotel companies and owners. Meg has received several recognitions and awards from the industry and her peers and frequently guest lectures including at her alma mater, the Harrington College of Design. Her work has been published in Hospitality Design, Boutique Design, Lodging Hospitality Design, Contract, the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Architect magazine.
Working with her teams, she prefers an atmosphere of collaboration, respect and design exploration, leading by example and providing an environment of inspiration. She brings that same spirit to firm operations with a high regard towards profitability and firm growth.
Meg is an engaged community member working with multiple charitable organizations in her hometown of Chicago, including the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality and is a member of the Chicago Artists Coalition. She holds memberships in good standing with East Bank Club, The Women’s Athletic Club of Chicago and Every House Membership at Soho House. She is her Homeowner Association president and past president of the Women’s Board of the Adler Planetarium of Chicago and sustaining member of its Advisory Committee.
Her love of design, travel, fine living, the culinary arts and fashion provide a foundation for her passion as a designer and leader. She lives with her architect husband in Chicago.
With a passion for pioneering ideas and new approaches to hospitality design, Ron serves as the Principal in charge of the Branding Group, where he directs the planning, design and strategic thinking for projects ranging from boutique properties, large-scale events and international brands. A collaborative and an innovative thinker, Ron has shaped dozens of hotel, resort and brand initiatives during his two decades at The Gettys Group.
Ron’s vision also helped create Gettys ONE, the design and procurement division for branded hotels, and the Hotel of Tomorrow (H.O.T.™), an industry-leading think tank comprised of more than 100 companies, including hotel brands, investors, operators, consultants, media and manufacturers envisioning the future of the hospitality industry through collaboration.
He is frequently asked to speak at industry events and has been quoted in numerous publications featuring his hospitality, design and branding expertise. Ron received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and is affiliated with the Hospitality Leadership Advisory Board at Kendall College; and the DePaul University, Driehaus College of Business Advisory Board. He also serves as a guest practitioner at Kendall College School of Hospitality; Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France; EM Lyon in Shanghai; and Haaga Helia University in Helsinki, Finland.
Powered by a passion for smart, sustainable design, Dan leads The Gettys Group Design Americas team, sharing his expertise with clients in the group’s Chicago and Miami offices. With more than a decade of experience at The Gettys Group and 20 years in architecture and interior design, Dan is dedicated to creating unique hospitality experiences that seamlessly weave together all services.
Recognized as an industry leader, Dan is frequently invited to speak at conferences including the Americas Lodging Investment Summit, NEWH Leadership Conference, Urban Land Institute, BDWest, HD Americas and Marriott LINK/CFRST Conference. As a true mentor in the design and architecture fields, Dan has taught interior design studio courses at Philadelphia University, served on the professional advisory board for the Art Institute of Orange County and is a part of the Boutique Design Trade Fair’s advisory board.
Dan earned a Master of Architecture degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology and has received accreditations from the American Institute of Architects, AIA; Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED® AP; the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards; and the Network of the Hospitality Industry.
Whether building LEGO creations with his two daughters or working on such diverse projects as the AGC Rotana & Rayhaan in Dubai or The Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, Chris finds endless inspiration in every interaction that helps spark his imagination and inform his design process.
During his decade working with The Gettys Group, Chris’s greatest asset has been in the spirit of collaboration. He thrives on gaining consensus from key stakeholders on collective goals, ideas and carrying out those objectives with his dynamic team.
Chris received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is accredited by the American Institute of Architects; Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED® AP; and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Jason is a practiced FF&E expert with a discerning eye for quality and detail. Bringing more than 15 years of supply chain experience to The Gettys Group spanning interior, industrial and mechanical design fields, Jason’s procurement experience dates back to before global sourcing was a commonly discussed practice. His knowledge base gathered in worldwide markets and the advantages and related challenges of working overseas brings tremendous value both to Gettys and its clients.
With each procurement project award, Jason has relied on his skill set and managerial approach to ensure the project supply chain is seamless; maintaining succinct client communication in conjunction with negotiating comprehensive FF&E budgets, project management, delivery logistics and installation. Quality standards are treated as the priority throughout the process, ultimately enabling the successful delivery of each project to our deserving clientele.
To truly respect and realize the designer’s intent while balancing the project drivers of cost, quality and timeline is a testament to our team’s understanding of the hospitality market and the expectations therein. A successful balance of each provides for a successful implementation for all.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree from Auburn University in Operations & Supply Chain Management.
Jennifer brings a diverse background and a high level of experience to The Gettys Group, with multiple certifications as an interior designer, a licensed commercial real estate broker and a LEED® accredited professional. Jennifer was appointed to oversee global business development for Gettys and lead all marketing and public relations initiatives. She is also responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing the global Gettys sales team.
Prior to joining The Gettys Group, Jennifer served as Vice President of Business Strategy at Legat Architects in Chicago, while simultaneously managing her own consulting practice focused on business development strategies and implementation in the commercial real estate, development, architectural and engineering fields. She has also held senior positions at such prestigious firms as The John Buck Company, Holabird & Root, IA Interior Architects, Knoll and Steelcase.
Jennifer is a member of the US Green Building Council, the International Interior Design Association, CoreNet Global and The Economic Club of Chicago. Her extensive philanthropic efforts include serving as Chairman of the Board for The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA/Chicago) and a Trustee of the Lake Forest High School Foundation. Jennifer currently serves on the editorial advisory board for Modern Luxury Media. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Abilene Christian University.
The daughter of a car enthusiast, Jennifer grew up showing antique automobiles across the country and still owns her high school ride- a vintage Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. Her appreciation for timeless design has never waned.
Serving as an ambassador for The Gettys Group, Ben has helped open two offices in his 13 years with the company. Working closely with the Hong Kong team, Ben also oversees a Design Americas studio. In this expansive role, Ben creates design stories, guides development, leads strategic thinking and oversees numerous influential projects around the globe.
Ben has worked on national brand enhancements and lifestyle-driven design projects, from large-scale luxury properties such as The Henry, Autograph Collection in Dearborn, Michigan (which was named Marriott’s America’s Hotel of the Year in 2011) to small boutique hotels including the Kinzie Hotel in Chicago and Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island.
A graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design, Ben is a dedicated fan of college football and basketball and can be found cheering on the Cyclones at his alma mater every chance he gets.
An accomplished painter and musician, Jackson brings a singular artistic vision to his work with The Gettys Group. After running his own successful architectural practice for more than 14 years, Jackson joined The Gettys Group in 2013 to develop PULSE by Gettys, an innovative design organization that creates experiential spaces that inspire social interaction and shared life memories.
Designing lifestyle, restaurant and entertainment venues all over the globe, some of Jackson’s high-profile projects include the The Edwin Hotel, Autograph Collection; the Hotel RL Portfolio; and Switch Café and Wine Bar, which was awarded the HI Connect Hospitality Design Award in 2014.
With a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an accreditation from the American Institute of Architects, Jackson brings more than 20 years’ experience to The Gettys Group. He is also an active animal activist.
Inspired by providing clients and partners with a holistic, strategic approach to hospitality design, Serene has more than 20 years of global interior design and architecture experience. Her vast knowledge and experience within the hospitality industry allows her to seamlessly manage the day-to-day operations in The Gettys Group Hong Kong office, perceptively mentoring her team and astutely delivering projects for clients within the region.
Prior to The Gettys Group, Serene was the Regional Managing Director of DiLeonardo’s Greater Asia Practice and also held the position of Regional Director of Interiors for HOK. Serene is a graduate of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, having received Bachelor’s degrees in architecture and building science.
Serene has earned several accolades throughout her career, including the HA+D Award for Design Excellence for The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort and the MIPIM Asia Award for Best Innovative Green Building. She also received LEED Platinum Certification for the Vrindavan Tech Village in India.
An accomplished visual artist, actor and avid animal lover, Angelica is the lead creative voice of The Gettys Group. As Branding Director, Angelica translates the company and client’s vision to ensure their stories are communicated in a clear, consistent and compelling way.
A graduate of Northern Illinois University with Bachelor’s degrees in visual communications and organizational/corporate communications, Angelica launched her career at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, where she led the in-house creative leave to maintain standards and visual guidelines for all nine brands.
Angelica’s passion for visual storytelling also extends to the graphic arts; in fact, one of her poster designs is now part of a permanent collection in the Chicago Design Archive.
Lorraine is endlessly inspired by the breadth, colors and moods of the Florida sky. With more than two decades’ design experience with such Top 100 firms as Rockwell Group and Stonehill & Taylor, Lorraine joined The Gettys Group to oversee the Miami office in 2014.
Lorraine’s skilled business acumen coupled with her design expertise makes her the ideal candidate to source new business in the South Florida market and beyond. Notable projects and collaborations include The New Yorker, A Wyndham Hotel; Playa Lago Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection; and Grand Central Station’s Dining Concourse, for which she received the Presidential Award for Design Excellence.
Lorraine graduated from the State University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature. She also received her Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design from the Parsons School of Design. She is accredited by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, LEED AP and has earned numerous accolades and awards.
Lorraine is a dedicated student of Iyengar yoga, which helps her cultivate her breath both on and off the job.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Emmanuel’s concentration has been focused on the business side of architecture. He has worked for some of the world’s top consultants including Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Dewan Architects & Engineers and others.
He holds a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a MBA from University of Warwick in the UK. Prior to returning to Chicago, Emmanuel lived and worked in Dubai for seven years with DiLeonardo International and Atconz Real Estate Development, LTD.
When not at work, Emmanuel enjoys spending time with his energetic twin boys and charismatic “almost” teenage daughter.
