Project Designer, Gettys ONE

Position Summary

As a specialized team of The Gettys Group, Gettys ONE was founded in 2012 to cater to the flourishing select-service hotels segment of the hospitality market. Since its inception, Gettys ONE has completed a variety of diverse projects with every major select-service brand.

We are the bridge between the brand and the client, offering start-to-finish guidance and personalized attention throughout the design process.


Designs, manages and performs within a design team in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process including preparation of materials, schematic design, design development, contract documentation, and construction of administration activities within an established budget with specific scheduling, site and programmatic requirements. Project Designers lead parts of or an entire project and lead project teams in conjunction with the Team Leadership.


  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA-accredited or NAAB-accredited program
  • Minimum 6 years of post-graduate professional design experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Advanced experience with construction materials and FF&E specifications/providers
  • Advanced experience in project design specifications, construction documentation, production, material selection and construction administration
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills in AutoCAD (current release preferred), InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp
  • Knowledgeable in specification writing (SPEXX experience preferred)
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of design principals, theories, color and materials
  • Experience in managing and leading successful projects and/or teams
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to manage client and brand relationships
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Ability to manage and complete project tasks in accordance with project schedules
  • Can complete comprehensive project tasks in an expedited time frame
  • Can perform Quality Control exercises on one’s own work as well as team members’ work
  • Understanding of select service and brand-specific standards, requirements, and project budgets
  • Provide design direction in accordance with brand-specific standards and guidelines and direct project team to produce design documents that meet brands’ submittal standards
  • Assist in maintaining departmental documentation and standards
